In the competitiveness Ranking of China's top 1000 Higher Vocational Colleges in 2022, OUR university ranks the 3rd in Hubei province and the 60th in China. In 2021, the school ranked 74th in the country, and this year has steadily risen 14 places from last year.

List, according to the six higher vocational colleges in hubei province to enter the national top 100, respectively is wuhan vocational and technical college (21), wuhan Marine vocational and technical college (53), xiangyang vocational and technical college (60), wuhan software engineering vocational college (77), huanggang vocational and technical college (82), the wuhan city vocational college (99).

It is jointly developed by China Science and Education Evaluation Network and China Institute of Science and Education Evaluation. It is considered by the industry as one of the most authoritative, comprehensive and professional lists reflecting the running situation of higher vocational colleges in China. Compared with previous years, the evaluation of higher vocational colleges added such indicators or data observation points as moral cultivation, academic style construction, ideological and political courses, demonstration bases, industry-university cooperation, last year's dominant specialty, excellent teaching materials, talent training quality, industry-education integration, innovation and entrepreneurship, 1+X certificate pilot, undergraduate education pilot, paper quality impact. Combined with the actual enrollment of colleges, the list determined the evaluation object of 1516 higher vocational colleges. Among them, there are 1,484 vocational colleges and 32 vocational colleges.
